Anvir Bashundhara Group Foundation stands by cancer-stricken teacher Yasmin Ara

Yasmin Ara, a teacher at a private university in the capital, is going through a difficult time after being diagnosed with cancer. As she struggles to manage the high cost of treatment, Anvir Bashundhara Group (ABG) Foundation has come forward to support her with financial assistance.
As part of its humanitarian initiative, the foundation provided financial aid to help her continue her treatment.
Yasmin Ara, who has been involved in the teaching profession for many years, is known among her students and colleagues as an inspiring educator. However, her life was disrupted after she was diagnosed with cancer, and the rising cost of medical care placed her family under severe financial pressure. Speaking about her condition, Yasmin said, "A significant amount of money has already been spent on my treatment. The price of a single injection was Tk1 lakh. My cancer was diagnosed at stage three and has spread to my lymph nodes. As a result, I have to undergo oral chemotherapy."
She added, "I have to spend around Tk65,000 every month on this medicine."
Despite her illness, Yasmin said she continued teaching whenever her health allowed.
"My health was not very good, but I still went to take classes. I hope to return to work once I become a little healthier," she said.
Learning about her struggle, Anvir Bashundhara Group Foundation extended support to Yasmin Ara as part of its social responsibility efforts. The foundation provided the necessary financial assistance for her advanced treatment.
Mohammad Aminul Islam, chief coordinator of Anvir Bashundhara Group Foundation, said, “We have provided her with financial support and assured her that the Chairman of Anvir Bashundhara Group Foundation and Anvir Bashundhara Group Foundation stand beside her. The way our Chairman has extended support to people in need, we urge other affluent members of society to come forward with similar humanitarian initiatives.”
