ABG Foundation, an initiative of Anvir Bashundhara Group, has taken full responsibility for the medical treatment of renowned Baul singer Kangalini Sufia, including financial support.
On Wednesday evening, ABG Foundation Chief Coordinator Md. Aminul Islam handed over Tk 1 lakh in cash to Kangalini Sufia at the Sufia Academy building under the Kalyanpur shelter project in Rajbari. Foundation Coordinator Md. Amir Hossain Mia was also present during the assistance handover.
The support was provided after the foundation learned that the veteran folk artist had been unable to receive proper medical treatment due to financial hardship.
After receiving the assistance, Kangalini Sufia said, "I have been sick for several days. I cannot go anywhere due to lack of treatment. My right hand is also broken. In this situation, I am grateful to ABG Foundation for providing money for my treatment."
It is worth noting that Kangalini Sufia fainted in the bathroom of her house in Rajbari on June 11. Sufia's treatment has not been possible for a long time due to lack of funds.
