ABG continues humanitarian aid for river erosion victims

Anvir Basundhara Group (ABG) has continued its humanitarian assistance programme for families affected by river erosion in Manikganj. As part of the initiative, essential food items were distributed among erosion-hit residents in the Somejghar area of Shibaloy Upazila on Sunday afternoon.

The relief packages included rice, lentils, cooking oil, salt and other daily necessities.

Earlier on Saturday, ABG distributed similar relief assistance among river erosion-affected families in the Paturia area.

Manikganj district Jubo Dal Convener Kazi Mostak Hossain Dipu attended the distribution programme as the chief guest.

Shibaloy Upazila Jubo Dal General Secretary Mizanur Rahman Liton, Manikganj Jubo Dal Joint Conveners Akteruzzaman and Asif Iqbal Rony, and Manikganj Swechchhasebak Dal Joint Secretary Kazi Nadim Hossain Toel, among others, were present at the event.  

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to ABG for the support. Despite light rain, they collected the relief materials in an orderly manner.

Several recipients said ABG has consistently stood by people during natural disasters and difficult times. They added that the food assistance would provide important short-term support for their families.
